Description of Service
The Homemaker Program provides funding for light housekeeping tasks for individuals 60 and older who are having difficulties maintaining their own home or apartment due to physical or mental disabilities whether long term or short term.
Goal
To enable individuals 60 and over to maintain their own home and remain independent by assisting with housekeeping tasks they may no longer be able to perform.
Eligibility
Recipients must be age 60 or older. A NENAAA Care Manager, taking into consideration their functional needs, will determine eligibility.
Providers
What a Homemaker provider can do:
Take out trash, change bedding, clean the bathroom, dust, prepare meals, shop for groceries, ironing, laundry, make beds, scrub floors, vacuum, and wash dishes.
Providers are contracted by the client and paid by the client. A Homemaker Grant, if the client is eligible, will reimburse the client up to the monthly contracted amount. Names of Providers will be offered to the client.
